Langue & Parole

Yesterday in COM 104, before reviewing chapter 2, Dr. Capps explained that we were going to get into groups and why significant others should not be together in those groups. He gave us examples of how this tends to be a bad situation or how one person in these significant relationships "don't do jack!". I had read chapter 2 prior to class so I knew that this statement was a form of parole. While "don't do jack!" does not make sense grammatically, I knew what Dr. Capps was saying given the frame of the communication.
